Heal Your Mind & Body
Yoga is more than stretching or exercise. It's an opportunity to understand your body, quiet your mind, and discover what you need to feel stronger and more balanced.
At Find Your Edge Yoga, LLC, I believe that every person's body and experience are different. My approach combines movement, deep stretching, and mindful awareness to help you explore your own edge.
"I can’t do yoga. I am inflexible. I can’t even touch my toes. It looks too slow. I need to burn calories. I can’t sit still that long. It looks silly. I don’t want to chant. Do I have to wear funny clothes?"

MY YOGA JOURNEY
How I Found My Way to Yoga
For years, people told me I should try yoga. I thought it looked too slow, wasn't a real workout, and wouldn't give me the physical challenge I needed. I wanted to burn calories, build muscle, and make every minute count.
In 2011, at age 38, I finally gave yoga a try. By then, I'd run more than 100 races, including eight full marathons, 50 half marathons, and 10 duathlons. I was used to pushing myself physically, but I wasn't finding the same mental release I once got from running.
I gravitated toward power yoga, with its fast pace and physical challenge. I still enjoy this style today. As my understanding of yoga grew, though, I realized my body needed something different, too.
Yin yoga and deep stretching helped me discover another side of the practice. They became a complement to running, weightlifting, and other forms of exercise, not a replacement for them.
THE REALIZATION
More Than a Physical Practice
As I learned more about yoga, I began to appreciate its potential to support both physical and mental wellbeing. I became interested in how yoga was being explored as a complementary approach for people experiencing trauma, stress, and other health challenges.
That curiosity led me to pursue my 200-hour and 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certifications.
My area of focus became understanding how yoga can help people work with stress and the tension they carry in their bodies.
For me, yoga became much more than a workout. It became a way to understand myself, listen to my body, and approach life with greater awareness.

MY TEACHING APPROACH
A Practice That Meets You Where You Are
As a teacher, my role is to meet you where you are, taking your energy, preferences, and tendencies into account.
Some people find it difficult to quiet their minds during practice. Too much stillness too soon can feel uncomfortable. That's why my teaching style often begins with active movement and grounding poses before moving into longer, deeper stretches.
I also share information about the anatomy and science behind poses, alongside Eastern philosophy where it adds to our understanding.
Movement and Grounding
Active movement and grounding poses help prepare you for longer periods of stretching and stillness.
Understanding Your Body
Every body is different. I offer options for poses and explain how different choices can affect different areas of the body.
Strength and Flexibility Together
My Pilates and yoga fusion approach combines core and hip-strengthening exercises with complementary stretches. The goal is to develop strength and flexibility together.
